Nvoip, a startup from Minas Gerais in the telecommunications industry, announced an investment of R$ 3 million in a round led by BR Angels Smart Network, a national association dedicated to angel investment composed of C-Level executives with performance in large companies from different markets. The other participating investors are Cedro Capital and Bossa Nova Investimentos.
Founded in 2018, the Juiz de Fora (MG) based company is focused on providing cloud voice services for the corporate sector. Currently, Nvoip has more than 2,700 active customers, distributed across 26 Brazilian states and 19 other countries. Of this total number of users, most are concentrated in São Paulo (44%).
Although it has been homologated as a telecom operator by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Nvoip bears little resemblance to other companies of its kind in the country. The startup is one of the only ones in the market able to provide services 100% in the cloud, which excludes the need for any kind of physical installation, even in the case of complex PBX systems.
To use Nvoip’s services, the user only has to access the company’s site, make a simple registration and choose the features he needs to create his company’s telephony system. There is no need to contract packages or to adhere to plans with minimum waiting periods. The customer chooses what he wants and pays only for what he uses, which includes 0800 and 4003 or the equivalent numbering of the two services in 73 different countries.
“Nvoip is able to have call centers or complete call centers created in a matter of minutes. And this at very affordable prices. So we didn’t think twice before supporting this initiative. Business models like this are not passing waves. They are here to transform the market as we know it. In other words, it is the future knocking at our door”, says Orlando Cintra, BR Angels’ CEO.
Wide Coverage
Through a very innovative technology, Nvoip offers the largest cloud telephony coverage in the country. The company also provides connection in more than 70 countries from the same numbering. In addition to providing unlimited scaling and provisioning, the startup also delivers free number portability and digital management dashboards with history and recording at no additional cost to its customers.
The IVR (Audible Response Unit) used by Nvoip has the main functionalities present in the world’s most modern PBX systems and audio options in 29 languages. The main differential in this regard is to allow small and medium-sized businesses to also have access to all these resources, which includes branch interconnection, PBX integration with cell phones, computers or tablets, daily reports by e-mail with BI from voice and SMS operations, among many other functions. To contribute to SMEs, the startup even provides all these operations, free of charge, for companies with up to three attendants.
“Nvoip meets the needs of a market that still has many customers dissatisfied with issues involving quality of service, bureaucracy, contractual ties, among other obstacles. With a diversified team, but which always acts in an agile and cohesive way, the startup also has a business model capable of favoring the search for mobility solutions that, as we know, are increasingly essential in the post-pandemic world”, says Paulo Pontin, BR Angles’ Board Advisor at Nvoip.
“The arrival of new drivers like 5G will only drive the growth of companies like Nvoip. Therefore, our goal is to help in the execution of the startup’s business plan. This not only with financial investment, but mainly in matters of governance, strategy, planning and sustainable growth. For this, we are constituting, together with Nvoip, an Advisory Board that will have a representative from BR Angels”, reveals Pontin.
National technology
Another advantage of the startup is the use of completely national proprietary systems. This feature makes it easy to operate and maintain the services, even in cases where more advanced commands need to be accessed. All the tools made available to the users have a simple, didactic, and typically Brazilian language. The company also offers support by telephone or chat for more complex cases.
“Over the years, we have seen very good ideas disappear from the market for not being able to withstand the competition with the big telecoms in the country. That is why the support we are getting now is fundamental for us to be able to grow and consolidate innovative service models in the segment in which we operate. Moreover, it is important to emphasize that we are not only receiving financial resources. Through BR Angels, we can count on the continuous guidance of CEOS from some of the main companies in the country. An advantage like this is priceless”, says Leandro Campos, Nvoip’s CEO.
