The startup “Escola em Movimento” received an investment of R$2 million from a venture capital fund managed by Cedro Capital. The money invested will be used to develop and accelerate the business, so that this year it will double in size and expand its operations in the domestic market.

For the CEO and co-founder of Escola em Movimento, Guilherme Rocha Ribeiro, the Fund’s investment boosts the company’s growth. “The investment will be used to accelerate the company’s growth in the domestic market and to develop new features in our platform. We aim to consolidate our position as a leader in the school digital agenda segment, reaching more than 500,000 students by the beginning of 2019,” adds the CEO.

The company, which is focused on developing communication solutions for students, parents, and employees at kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school, has created a solution that replaces the old school agenda, transforming it into a versatile communication tool via smartphones and/or the web.

Currently, they already serve more than 450 private schools in Brazil and abroad and, in 4 years of operation, have more than 260,000 students in their base. They are innovative for creating customized communication applications for educational institutions.

In the company’s app, educational institutions can send text messages, photos, videos, and other files to users. It is possible to schedule events, create personalized service channels, have complete statistics about usage, and manage all communication through the tool.

In addition, the technology developed makes it possible for schools to reduce paper costs, phone calls, and especially to make communication with parents and students much simpler and more effective. Last year they incorporated to the product the “Estou Chegando” (I am arriving) innovation, in which the school is notified by the app of the parents’ arrival, thus avoiding traffic jams when the students leave. “We believe that our technology will evolve to the point of making an even greater difference in the school’s relationship with parents and students. As a company, we want to help institutions improve this relationship and thus enhance student satisfaction and retention,” adds Rocha.

The global market for technology allied to education is growing 17% per year and is expected to reach $252 billion by 2020. There is a blue ocean of opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs.
