iMedicina, a technology startup aimed at the medical office and clinic market, has just received an investment from a venture capital fund managed by Cedro Capital, a fund and resource manager, with the objective of developing and accelerating its business. The value was not disclosed.

The startup emerged in 2016 with the launch of a technology platform – of the same name – that helps optimize the management of the clinic or medical office and provides a set of marketing services for the conquest and loyalty of new patients and communication management, such as building the clinic’s website and generating specialized medical content.

For iMedicina CEO and co-founder Raphael Trotta, the fund’s investment will allow the implementation of tools that improve the return on marketing services offered. “The investment will be destined to the implementation of improvements in the delivery of results to our medical customers and also to the investment in tools that serve this public more satisfactorily, which impacts on an upgrade in our technology and development team,” says Raphael.

The iMedicina software is practically the only one in Brazil that integrates relationship management, Marketing, and ERP tools. “In 2009, when I graduated from medical school and started to work in an office, I started to have contact with electronic medical record software that the doctor usually uses to manage the agenda, patients, billing, inventory control, etc. However, something always bothered me about these systems: they were aimed at the well-established physician with an office full of patients. At the time, I, as a new doctor, was much more interested in a tool to help attract new patients. From that moment on I thought: then why not create a software for physicians that could help us win new patients”, Raphael explains.

iMedicine has two software versions. The “iMedicina Software”, which has an appointment calendar, task list, patient history, clinical reports, complete medical records, financial manager, updated and real-time cash flow, online patient services, and others. The information and data are stored in the cloud, which makes it possible to access them from anywhere. iMedicina PRO”, on the other hand, offers marketing support for attracting new patients with the use of technology.

It has about 700 contracts with clinics and offices nationwide, and has more than 1500 registered physicians. In the last 12 months, the startup has grown at an average of 12% per month. “Our expectation is to triple our sales this year and consecutively in 2019,” Raphael assesses.
